The Theatre of Power
The curtain may fall - but the real play begins behind it.
“The Theatre of Power” is a play on the significance of performing silent strategies behind the curtain - beyond the spotlight of a global podium.
Politics in the world unfolds similarly to a theater: with leaders, nations, and rulers showcasing all they have to offer on the global platform. Political rallies, bilateral meetings, and confrontations are choreographed as acts meant to project power, influence, and control. However, performances on the global stage conceal real intentions, while what happens backstage alters the course of history, greater than the most striking speeches.
NOSMUN is a space where silence transforms into the sound of rustling papers, rising voices, and debate for diplomacy. It is where a speech becomes a performance, where a seat turns into a spotlight for justice, and where every delegate shapes the narrative of power. NOSMUN’26 is a grand stage, and you are its actors. Some perform in the spotlight directed by knowledge, while others plot behind the scenes through strategy to rewrite the story.
Which role will you play?
As the curtain rises on a new scene, the genocide in Palestine reminds us how narratives are scripted not only on battlefields but also through the media. Such adversity must be recognized as we navigate NOSMUN’26.
In the theatre of power, it’s not the speaker who seizes the stage, but the strategist behind the scenes.
